SOL & SCROLL BUSINESS PAGE AND DIRECTORY.

SOL & SCROLL

THE BASICS.
Located in a repurposed greenhouse on the estate grounds, Sol & Scroll is a safe haven for witches and readers alike, where the magic of the natural world meets the magic of the written word. Stepping inside, guests are greeted by the woodsy, earthy fragrances drawing them to a selection of dried flora, handpicked herbs, incense sticks, and a mixture of salves and tinctures to address their needs.

In a cozy nook, bookworms are invited to take a seat on colorful beanbags and pillows after they've browsed the curated shelves of books. While they relax and unwind away from the outside world, patrons can choose from a small menu of teas to sip on — some ordinary blends, while others appear to have small, varying magical effects depending on Kettlewing's cooperation that day — just don't ask where the tea came from.

Payment for goods & service is on a trade system — customers are asked to bring their own handmade goods or skills in exchange. These can be ordinary or magical in nature, tangible or intangible (like sharing a secret, helping tend to the garden, or reading Alina your favorite book, for example), so long as it's homegrown and from the heart.

Hours of operation are Monday through Thursday from 10:30 AM — 3:30 PM.

STORE FEATURES AND OFFERINGS.
BOOKS, BOOKS, AND BOOKS.
Sol & Scroll boasts a (small but growing!) collection of books that can be borrowed or bought. Each theme claims its own shelf — herbalism and nature, mythology and fairytales from all cultures and histories, and some dustier volumes on the occult, philosophies of magic, and the history of magic through the ages. The overall consensus, however, is that they're all related to magic or witchcraft in some manner. Yes, even the scattered bodice rippers hidden among ordinary tomes, all featuring your pick of supernatural creatures.
TEAS & TREATS.
At the shop register sits vibrant little lists for patrons to peruse, offering a variety of ordinary and bewitched teas. The menu has some house staples, but tends to change with the seasons. Stock tends to be limited, dependent solely on the demand of business that day and Kettlewing's cooperation with brewing.

In the mood for a treat to wash down with your tea? A row of wicker baskets decorates the counter, containing the goods others have come to trade (or what Alina has snuck away from the kitchens that morning). Most of the time, these are flavorful jams, scones, and other breakfast pastries.

Anything a character may want to trade for an item or service, they can deposit there, as well — or pick from what's already there, and leave their own creation. Anything your character creates is fair game. Have a talent for sketches, or bake a mean loaf of bread? Alina collects it all.
HERBS & FLORAL ARRANGEMENTS.
A flower nursery sits in the backroom, locked to anyone but Alina and trusted employees. However, you'll spot the fruits of its labor set up on apotheacry shelves — with herbs and dried petals capped off in pretty bottles for those looking for herbal and floral ingredients.

Other herbs have already been used — artistic labels boasts the properties of homemade salves and tinctures, addressing a range of needs. Rub some lavender on your temples, and your headache seems to mysteriously disappear. In need of some TLC for your bumps and bruises? Try some arnica, and they disappear like dirt smudged away. For more personal needs, a little cardstock sits nearby, reading see Alina for more.

Sol & Scroll additionally has a new service to offer. A shop employee can help you put together a bouquet or other floral arrangement from Alina's garden. What's currently on offer are sunflowers, daisies, primrose, lilies, marigolds, orchids, and irises with more to come.
POTION & CHARMS STATION.
Eager to try your own hand? Neatly arranged on a table, Alina has set up a charm-making and potion-creation station. Yes, rhyme intended. A leaflet encourages friends and couples to work together to follow a guide, or trust your own instincts!* (*Alina does not claim legal responsibility for any mistakes or injuries that occur as a result.)

While the charms don't seem to do anything but look pretty on a bracelet or necklace, the potions come with their own set of symptoms and side-effects. Player's choice for what those are, so long as they're not too crazy. (Ex: strayed too far from instructions? Good luck with your fluorescent pubes or finding you can only speak in frog croaks, babes. Followed them like a good little boy or girl? Enjoy a nice day of looking extra kissable to anyone you meet, a brief day of being able to read the thoughts of those around you, or the fuzzy warm feeling of any scratches being healed.)
